Headboard for our spare bedroom.
Materials:
- Sheet of Plywood (real plywood, not that particle or chip board stuff) cut to correct size by The Big Guy
- 2-inch thick upholstery foam cut to correct size at the store
- Quilt batting - enough for a double layer between the foam and the fabric
- Upholstery fabric - nice stuff for the front of the headboard and cheap stuff for the back
- Button kits - for making 4 covered buttons
- Strong cord - for fastening the buttons
Tools:
- Pencil and Paper - for sketching plans and marking the plywood for cuts and holes
- Measuring Tape
- Scissors
- Upholstery Needle
- Table Saw - to cut the plywood to the correct size
- Drill with 1/4-inch drill bit - to make holes in plywood for threading the cord that holds on the buttons
- Stapler and staples - to fasten the fabric, batting and foam to the plywood, to secure the cord holding on the buttons
- Hammer - for making sure the staples are in tight
- The Big Buy - to help carry the plywood and operate the table saw and drill
- Tweezers - for removing the splinters
- Bandaid - to made the owee feel better
- Advil - to alleviate the aftereffects of hours and hours of stapling and hammering
[this is good] Gorgeous DIY project!!
